Kate Andrews judges Sea Stories Design Competition for Under 11s

July 14, 2017

SketchBetter CEO Kate Andrews co-judged the International Youth Arts Festival design competition for under 11s this month. Kate and IYAFestival Director Andy Currums perused 100 design entries and were spoilt for choice for a winner. They selected 10 runners up but the hilarious "Georgina the Giant Sea Giraffe" by Emma Facey took first place.

Winning Design: Georgina the Giant Sea Giraffe by Emma Facey

The competition was launched to celebrate the ocean theme of the International Youth Arts Festival’s Royal Gala performance of Sea Stories. Entrants were asked to imagine a new sea creature that has been discovered deep in the tropical oceans, and the best design will be made into a one-off cuddly toy to keep! What a prize.

First place winner Emma Facey also received VIP tickets for her family to attend the Royal Gala Performance of Sea Stories at the Rose Theatre in Kingston last week. Here she is showing Prince Edward her winning design. Find out more about The International Youth Arts Festival here.
