Mindful Creativity for Adults

In September, we launched the first SketchBetter evening art course for adults, held in Kingston. It has been such a joy to teach adults again and everyone has enjoyed it. If you would like to ignite or discover your innate creativity, or would like to discover more about how Positive Psychology and the Visual Arts can help reduce stress and improve your wellbeing, come join us. 


These weekly evening classes are taught by myself, Kate Andrews (Positive Psychology Coach and CEO of SketchBetter) and Artist Michelle Hazell. Each week we introduce our students to different art forms, ranging from observational drawing, clay modelling and collaging to watercolour painting. We do this alongside and underpinned by the science of Positive Psychology and offer weekly readings and exercises that can help you to increase your wellbeing.

Here's a little taster of what we've been up to.

Week One: Creativity & Wellbeing

In week 1 we learnt all about Positive Psychology and Mindfulness - what and how they underpin the classes and SketchBetter's education. We did some meditations and mindful drawing using black fine liners, in the form of Story Spheres


Week Two: Illustrating Your Character Strengths

In week 2, we discussed Character Strengths and illustrated our top strengths. We also wrote letters to our future selves.
